Chandler Multiple DUI Charges
Chandler DUI With Priors – Work With a Board Certified Attorney
The penalties for a first time DUI conviction can be harsh, including costly fines and possible jail time, among other consequences. If you have been convicted of a DUI in the past and you are facing charges of a second or subsequent DUI within 84 months, then you could be facing much harsher penalties if convicted. It is advisable to seek out the advice and counsel of an experienced DUI lawyer before making any decisions in your case. At the Law Offices of Trent R. Buckallew PC, attorney Trent Buckallew has over 20 years of experience in serving those who are facing criminal and DUI charges, and he has represented countless individuals who faced charges of DUI in Chandler and throughout the entire Valley. He has the experience and the skill to confront the evidence that will be brought against you and to defend your rights in court. He is one of very few lawyers in the valley who have been certified by the State Bar of Arizona as a Specialist in Criminal Law which requires significant experience in criminal defense as well as peer reviews from Judges and opposing counsel, and passing a rigorous exam prior to certification.
Chandler DUI Penalties
Penalties for a first time DUI conviction can include fines of roughly $1,400, a license suspension of 90 days up to 1 year, jail time of 24 hours to 10 days and other penalties. The penalties for a second, third or subsequent conviction of DUI can significantly increase depending on the circumstances in the case. A second (non-extreme) DUI conviction could carry penalties of approximately $3,400 in fines, minimum of 90 days in jail (with a possibility of 60 days suspended), a one-year license revocation and other penalties such as ignition interlock device requirements (12-24 months), alcohol screening and counseling and up to 5 years’ probation. Penalties are harsher if the second DUI is charged as Extreme or ‘Super’ Extreme (higher BAC levels). The penalties are progressively harsher if this is a 3rd (or subsequent) DUI in 84 months. Given the significant penalties in DUI convictions with a prior DUI record, it is critical to seek the advice and counsel of an experienced Chandler DUI Attorney.
